A competitor must compete in his/her age division only. There will be no "moving up" in any event, including relays. Competitors in the 6 & under, 8 & under, 9-10 and 11-12 divisions may compete a maximum of three events including relays. Competitors in the 13-14, 15-16 and 17-18 age divisions may compete in a maximum of four events, including relays. Combined events are not included in the event count.
All athletes must be current member of USATF in good standing. USATF memberships may be purchased on line at Be sure to enter #126, Leeward Track Club.
Youth competitors typically take place in two-year age divisions and are determined by year of birth. These age divisions provide young athletes the opportunity to complete with other athletes of similar ability. The age divisions for competition year 2017 are as follows:

*Per USATF Rule 300.1 "Athletes must be at least seven (7) years of age on December 31 of the current year to compete at the Youth Athletics or Junior Olympic National Champonships."
*Athletes born in 1997 are also eligible if they do not turn 19 on or before 7/13/20 (final day of the USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships). They are eligible to complete in the Young Men's and Young Women's division. This expended eligibility does ot apply to cross country events.
Red, Purple, Green and Yellow are allowed to run 3 events including relays.
Blue, Orange, and White are allowed to run 4 events including relays.
